Who should see a periodontist?
While many patients’ periodontal needs can be managed by the general dentist, patients who present with moderate or severe levels of periodontal disease, or patients with more complex cases, will be best managed by a partnership between the dentist and periodontist.
Secondly, patients requiring placement of dental implants or other periodontal surgical procedures are candidates for treatment by a Periodontist. Your Periodontist will work with your general dentist or other dental specialists in order to provide complete treatment needs.
